The Mexican company Helvex has inaugurated its High-Tech Materials Plant in Apaseo el Grande, with an investment of $20 million and the generation of 500 direct and indirect jobs. This move strengthens the industrial muscle of Guanajuato, which for over a decade has been consolidating itself as a strategic point for industrial growth, driven by its logistics connectivity and by housing one of the country's most dynamic dry ports. The state remains an attractive destination for investment, even amidst tariff challenges and global uncertainty. Guanajuato's governor, Libia García Muñoz Ledo, stated: 'A space is also opening that represents a lot for us: the vision, the growth, and above all, the confidence they continue to have in our Guanajuato.' The new facility is integrated into the complex that Helvex has operated in the municipality since 2010, concentrating processes of foundry, machining, finishing, and assembly. The project aims to increase productive capacity with high-tech materials, focusing on faucets and accessories that are more resistant and globally competitive. Furthermore, this bet aligns with the substitution of imports and the strengthening of the national supply chain. With this opening, the state reports a 46% progress on its six-year goal for attracting investment. To date, there have been 48 projects completed, more than $3,705 million accumulated, and over 11,000 jobs committed. This movement confirms Guanajuato as one of the active industrial nodes in the Bajío, in the midst of a productive relocation dynamic. The company, present in 22 countries, manufactures 96% of its components in Mexico, reinforcing its bet on the national industry. 'It's a bet on innovation and Mexican talent,' said Helvex's director, Jorge Barbará Morfín, President and General Manager of Grupo Helvex. The new plant not only expands production but also consolidates a local chain with a regional impact in municipalities such as Celaya, Cortazar, Villagrán, and Comonfort.
